SHAG's philosophy centers on offering a rich lifestyle and fostering a sense of community. Numerous optional, resident and staff-organized social events are scheduled each month that include a variety of on- and off-site activities. The result is a lifestyle that can be as busy or as quiet as you like. There are plenty of opportunities to make new friends and be social. Or do something more solitary — like turning your family recipes into a best-selling cookbook!
Staying fit.
At Arrowhead Gardens, staying fit starts at our fully equipped fitness center. It features the latest in state-of-the-art equipment and a certified trainer who specializes in senior fitness who can design a custom routine just for you to make sure your workout gets results. Add to that walking paths to boost your heart rate and a fun weekly swim trip to the local Evergreen Community Aquatic Center in West Seattle for water aerobics!

Getting outside.
Arrowhead Gardens was designed with all kinds of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Courtyards, rooftop decks, sunrooms, terraces and patios — plus plenty of other outdoor spaces to have get-togethers with friends. Most popular are our Pea-Patch planters, where residents who have discovered their “inner gardeners” grow everything from artichokes to zucchini. It's not only great recreation but also cuts down on trips to the grocery store!
Gardening is so big at Arrowhead Gardens that Ciscoe Morris broadcasted his weekly radio show from here.

Relaxing and being social.
You'll feel the social vibe the minute you arrive at Arrowhead Gardens, with people chatting near the water fountain in front of the Village Center or relaxing in one of the many lounges, community rooms or media centers throughout the community. Play on the computers in the internet café with free internet access. Or stay busy in the arts and crafts room with its abundance of puzzles, games, books and art supplies — the perfect place to start a creative project.
Then there's the community room in the Village Center, with a full kitchen and doors to the adjacent outdoor deck for barbecues, parties and events. Plus free movies, bingo games, birthday parties, potlucks and even Saturday night poker games.
